ethics & TRANSPARENCY
Working with my colleagues to ensure that the ANC website has accurate and up-to-date information
Using the publicly provided ANC email account to conduct ANC business in accordance with guidance from the Office of the ANC and DC Attorney General
Working with the community to take a thoughtful, long-term approach to chronic crime
Requesting more resources for crime prevention instead of just crime response
Being more proactive about job training programs for at-risk youth
Increasing drug abuse diversion and rehabilitation programs
Partnering with businesses to increase lighting and cameras
Fostering true community engagement with MPD through well-publicized, inclusive events
Encouraging MPD to boost emphasis on foot patrols
Provide additional funding for after school and summer camp programs
Increasing outreach to make teens and young adults aware of job training and scholarship programs
Collaborating with various agencies to implement a Beautification Small Grant Project to enhance our neighborhood's beauty through art
Coordinating the installation of neighborhood banners on lamp posts throughout the community
Collaborating with volunteers and others to plant gardens in tree boxes and other vacant lots throughout the community
Coordinating an anti-litter campaign
Creating ANC committees made up of citizens to review development and grant proposals in order to improve community engagement and help develop future civic leaders
Ensuring that all ANC meetings are in a bus or metro-accessible location within the boundaries of our ANC so that all members of the community can easily attend meetings
Coordinating with my fellow commissioners to make sure that all meetings are properly noticed with a written agenda in advance
Working with colleagues to set clear affordability guidelines for all new development in ANC 5D
Placing special emphasis on increasing the availability of larger units at 50% AMI and less
Requesting developers give priority to anyone currently living in the community on their waiting lists for affordable dwelling units
Improving outreach to seniors by sending written meeting notices via mail
Publishing a printed community newsletter to keep constituents up-to-date on important community information and the activities of the ANC
Ensuring that meetings are held in wheelchair accessible locations
Increasing outreach and access to meal, transportation and home care programs for seniors
